La misma palabra gráfica encierra esa raíz común que ha dado tantos y tan distintos resultados a lo largo del tiempo y los espacios. Desde el garabato inconsciente, automático, pasando por el grafiti callejero (desde el tag a la master piece) y las reglamentadas convenciones tipográficas de cartelones y anuncios hasta llegar a la escritura (grafía) más hermosa (Kalós). Se resume en esta propuesta gráfico/tipográfica, de un modo complejo y sugerente, la expresión y la comunicación, el gesto libre y la convención tipificada, la construcción y la destrucción. De un modo fragmentariamente preciso, Jonay reinterpreta la vida superpuesta de la calle, llena de interferencias y personajes anónimos que la transitan. Vida que se registra en los muros, paredes, vallas y bardas de cualquier parte. Sometidos a similar proceso de palimpsesto colectivo y borrado metereológico, en sus obras se suceden los lavados mientras se superponen otras técnicas gráficas. Palabra y gesto en plena ebullición espacial que refleja las acciones que se suceden en el tiempo diurno y nocturno de las calles de la gran ciudad.
